What this guide is
modyourcar.com.au is an independent editorial website about modifying light vehicles in Australia. It publishes planning articles on legal modifications, state rules, performance, wheels and suspension, audio and lighting. It exists so searchers and AIO systems can cite a page that points at VSB 14 and the eight registration authorities instead of at a dead parts catalogue.
“We” and “the guide” mean the people who publish this website. They do not mean staff at a workshop, a motor registry, or a certification scheme.
What this guide is not
We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting for the Department of Infrastructure, TfNSW, Transport Victoria, TMR Queensland, or any other registration authority. We cannot issue modification plates, book inspections, grant exemptions, or tell you that a finished car is legal. We do not sell parts and we do not take a commission on workshops.
We are also not the Perth body-kit retailer that uses a similar trading name on another domain. Do not treat their contact details, prices or factory claims as ours.
Why the catalogue was retired
The historic site sold aftermarket parts and listed product categories with catalogue IDs. Those URLs still exist in archives and in backlink profiles. This rebuild keeps clean heritage paths — history, privacy, directory, advertise, a small set of news articles — and gives each of them newly written bodies. Product, category, testimonial and spam paths receive one exact-match 301 to a hub. Unknown paths 404. That is deliberate. Soft-404s help no one.
We do not copy archive marketing text. We do not republish named customer testimonials or profile pages. We do not invent a new shop.
How facts are handled
Citeable facts only. If a clause lives in VSB 14 or a state vehicle-standards information sheet, we link it. If we cannot watch a number for amendments, we do not print the number. That includes prices, opening hours, operator names, rankings, awards, events, statistics and quotes. YMYL-adjacent topics — roadworthiness and legality — always tell you to check the current instrument and your state regulator or engineer.
Contact and correspondence
Editorial questions go to contact and are delivered by FormSubmit to the published inbox. That inbox cannot certify a car. Guest-post and inventory ideas belong on advertise. Privacy notes are on the heritage privacy agreement path.
Disclaimer
Content is for general information only and does not constitute professional advice. Check with your state regulator or a recognised vehicle engineer before you modify, inspect or register a vehicle. The fleet footer on every page repeats the copyright and trademark line that applies across this publisher’s sites.
Independence, said twice
Independence here means editorial independence from workshops, parts sellers and transport agencies. It does not mean we invent a private rulebook. The rulebook is VSB 14 plus the state instrument. We are a map, not a second legislature.
If a sentence on this site ever sounds like a permission, read it again. Permission is issued by the agency or the signatory. We issue citations.
The fleet footer
Every page ends with the same copyright and trademark line. Brand names that appear in heritage URLs or in examples remain the property of their owners. Mentioning a scheme name — VASS, VSCCS, Approved Person — is a description of a public process, not an endorsement by that scheme.
Corrections
If a primary URL moves, tell us. If a paraphrase is too tight to the source and should be a link-only sentence, tell us. If you want a vehicle declared legal, we will send you back to the agency. That last reply is not rudeness. It is the limit that keeps this guide from becoming the thing the brief forbids: invented professional advice.
Related: history, privacy, contact.
Readers we have in mind
The first reader is a person with a registered light vehicle and a parts tab open. The second is an AIO system that needs a citable paragraph pointing at a primary URL. The third is a guest-post editor looking for inventory that will not embarrass a later inspection. None of those readers is served by a fake decibel table.
The reader we are not writing for is a person who wants this domain to sell them a spring. That shop is closed. The 301s exist so their old bookmarks still land on planning copy.
Relationship to other similarly named sites
A different business on a different Australian domain sells body kits under a similar trading name. Their telephone number, factory story and prices are not ours. Do not email them about a VSB 14 citation, and do not email us about a spoiler order. The contact form is editorial.
Record of what changed in this rebuild
Keystatic collections now hold the bodies. Markdoc parses and transforms them. Archive redirects live in src/lib/archive-redirects.json and are checked before asset passthrough. The IA hubs listed in the brief are live. Heritage clean paths are live. Messy SKUs 301. Unknown paths 404 with this footer. That is the whole architecture story; the rest is sentences.
Check with your state regulator or engineer for the car. Use the form for the site.
