Planning a 4WD suspension lift

A lift is a light-vehicle modification if GVM is 4.5 tonnes or less. Treat brakes, steering, driveline angles and lamp aim as part of the job.

Direct answer

A 4WD lift on a light vehicle is assessed under VSB 14 and the state information sheet for that vehicle, the same stack as a street lowering — in the other direction. Do not copy a social-media block measurement into an invoice and call it engineering.

Heritage path kept; body rewritten. No product prices. No ranking of kits.

Wheels and suspension, legal lowering, getting engineer sign-off.

Check the rule before you buy the part

If a change affects structure, emissions, lighting, tyres or the vehicle description on the register, stop and read VSB 14 plus your state agency. We can point you at the primary page — we cannot sign the car off.
